Ticket Changes Coming 2027
The NFL Strategists are weighing options to change their ticketing business with Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, and Sports Illustrated Tickets, including team-level primary tickets, before the expiration in 2027. Allowing the league to consolidate ticket control at the league level and giving them the opportunity to create their own platform, gain more control over revenue, fan data, and resale activity.
What Does This Mean For Teams
Owning all or a large part of a company that would control all primary ticketing for the NFL, allowing them to see all fan data and fan experience that comes along with digital tickets, and preventing resellers from selling outside the NFL ecosystem.
What Does This Mean For Fans
A unified system could streamline the ticket-buying process and offer a more consistent digital experience, but it may also limit third-party resale options and reduce flexibility. Teams with strong local operations might resist the change, and fans could see impacts on pricing and availability.
